Background
In marginalized communities in Mexico and Ecuador, this study examined the effectiveness of the JUCONI model of intervention in reducing intimate partner violence and violence against children.
JUCONI’s model works on the assumption that violence in families is a key driver to children being on the streets and in other situations of social exclusion. Through home visits focused both on family-level interventions as well as individual consultations, JUCONI´s works to reshape parents attitudes towards the use of violence. The evaluation will uncover the degree to which the intervention changes violence, the risk of future violence and parents’ relationship to attachment.
