Violence against children occurs in communities, in schools, and in homes, in both rich and poor families, and in every country in the world. Whether felt or seen, 3 out of 4 children experience violence, which hinders their development and harms the community at large.
When the Evaluation Fund was founded in 2011, much of the evidence base for how to prevent violence against children had been developed in high-income countries and in Western settings. To address this evidence gap, The Evaluation Fund has supported 22 research projects in low- and middle-income countries to better understand what works and what doesn’t to prevent violence against children across communities and contexts.
Today, The Evaluation Fund works with researchers and practitioners to conduct rigorous evaluations of programs that are designed to end violence against children, and we help improve the ability of advocates to meaningfully share what they have learned with decision-makers, practitioners and the research community.
We support researchers to conduct high-quality evaluations of programs that are designed to prevent violence against children in low- and middle-income countries.
We help improve the ability of our researchers and implementing partners to build their capacity in evaluation, research, and communications.
We promote evidence-based programming and policy-making to end violence against children, and we support our partners to disseminate the findings, share best practices, and advocate to decision-makers.
We work with a variety of partners to streamline efforts to end violence against children, connecting the research community with practitioners and decision-makers to promote an evidence-based approach.
We work with local and international researchers to conduct rigorous evaluations of programs designed to reduce violence against children, and we support them in disseminating their findings and sharing best practices.
We work with practitioners to evaluate interventions designed to reduce violence against children, so that they can improve their programs, share best practices, and advocate what they have learned to audiences that matter.
We work with funders in the field of violence against children, as well as other cross-cutting sectors, to ensure that our efforts to support child rights are coordinated and evidence-based.
Even though we are a small team, we are working within a network of researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners who are committed to ending violence against children.
